It’s Dangerous to Go Alone

So, for those of you who follow me on Instagram (and Twitter) know that I’ve been doing what I’ve been calling a 30 for 30 challenge. The concept is simple, for 30 days I work on a certain project for 30 minutes. (Some days I’ve worked on it more, other days I’ve just clocked in my 30 minutes.)

I am flattered and humbled by all the likes, comments, favs and RTs, that I’ve gotten so far. But, there is another common comment that I’ve gotten throughout these past 4 weeks. It goes a little something like, “It’s awesome that you’re doing that. I never could.”

I’m here to tell you that yes, you can.

But, I know it’s hard to do it when you feel alone. So, that’s why I say let’s make June a month of crafting awesomeness.

Pick a craft or project (new or old) and be committed to working on it for 30 minutes for 30 days. Don’t have a craft that will take you a month to finish? Then, work on it for 30 minutes until it gets done. Or, maybe you’re like me, and you know your craft won’t get done in 30 days…still, do you know how much progress can get done? IT IS AMAZING.

And no, it’s not just open to cross-stitching.  Maybe you’re a drawing genius or you make pottery that mere mortals weep or your quilts are so epic, people write songs about them. Or, you want to have an excuse to try something completely new. It doesn’t matter, LET YOUR CRAFT SHINE THROUGH.

So, the process is simple. Starting on June 1, post your picture on Twitter, Instagram, or Tumblr and tag it with #30for30crafting . Then, keep your eyes peeled for that tag and encourage your fellow crafters. And if it’s possible, try to take a pic each day. I know for me, it really does help to look back to the previous day or two and see that, yes, I’m making progress.

I’m super excited and would love for y’all to join in on the fun. Let’s make June the craftiest month of the year! ❤ ❤

I make crafts. I geek out. Sometimes, I geek out about making crafts.

  1. That’s so fun! I would have so much more time to craft/sew if I stayed offline… but then I wouldn’t read blog posts like this 😉 I love this idea, but is it cheating to participate if I typically spend 30 minutes on something every day already?

    1. Nah, it’s not cheating! I usually spend 30 minutes on my Dark World cross-stitch. It’s mostly an excuse to post pictures of our progress and encourage/see what other crafters are doing. 😀

  2. I definitely need to decide what I’ll be doing for this because I really want to take part! I might use it as motivation to pull out an old project I want to finish. 30 minutes isn’t too long to spend working on a project I want to get out of my life!
