Mother Nose Best

If you have followed me for a while, you know that back in 2017 I had the idea to stitch up the Flynn Rider wanted poster from the beginning of Tangled. It should have been finished relatively quickly — I have completed plenty of projects that are bigger than that since ’17, but I could never get good traction on it.

Fast forward to the end of 2022. My sister organized a plan for everyone in my extended family to go to Disneyland! That was all the motivation I needed! I could finish it up and take it to Disneyland! Fun!

Unfortunately, when I decided to measure the fabric, I realize that it was too short. There was rage and despair in my heart, but after a couple of months, I decided to restart the project in nine weeks.

And who would have thought? I actually did it.

I was able to take a pic over in Fantasyland! It was great and I was so thrilled with how it turned out!

I coffee-dyed my piece of aida cloth. I have no idea what the proper procedure is, but all I did was put a big pot of coffee on the stovetop, crumpled my aida in a ball, wrapped it with some string so it would stay in a ball, and let it sit in the boiling liquid for the better part of an hour. Afterward, I just rinsed it and went on my stitching way.

A lot of people over the years have asked where/when the pattern would be available. It’s going to be over on Ko-Fi. (It’s free because I don’t want the Mouse after me, but donations are always appreciated ❤ ) There are three different versions: the original one that I stitched, a version when there’s no seal of Corona, and one with a “not right” nose.

If you do decide to tackle it, awesome! Feel free to tag me on Twitter or Instagram or use #thecraftinggeek so I can see your progress!

Happy crafting!
